The Application and Working Principle of QuEchERS

Working Principle

The principle is very similar to that of  HPLC and SPE. Both of them use the interaction of adsorbent fillers and impurities in the matrix adsorption impurities, so as to achieve the purpose of removing and purifying impurities.

Specifically, the homogenized sample is extracted by acetonitrile (or acidified acetonitrile), separated by extraction salting-out, and then purified by centrifugation with PSA or other adsorbents combined with most of the interferences (organic acids, fatty acids, carbohydrates, etc.) in the matrix.

Application of the Detection of Pesticide Residues in Food

QuEchERS method is widely used in many fields, It can be used to purify food residues, veterinary drug residues, additives, illegal additives, plasticizers, and other possible fields as long as the target recovery rate meets the requirements and the substrate removal background meets the testing requirements. But at present, the method is mainly used to detect agricultural residues, so we mainly analyze the application of QuEChERS in the detection of pesticide residues in food.
